Instructor: Donald J. Sivigny

• Over 25 years as a State Energy Specialist, Building Code Official, and Code Instructor.
• Nationally recognized for expertise in building durability, building science, radon, air quality, and energy codes.
• Instructor at Minnesota community colleges and awarded educator of the year in Minnesota.

 
Course Content:

• Focused on the Residential Energy Building Code with an interactive Q&A format.
• Covers heating and cooling requirements, programmable thermostats, frost-protected shallow foundations, foundation insulation, and compliance with building codes.
• Explains Minnesota's building codes and rulemaking process, structural requirements, and code updates.

Continuing Education Credit:

• Approved for 7 hours of continuing education (CE) by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry for Building Officials, Residential Contractors, and Remodelers.
