A Year in Review: How Young Professionals are Giving Back

The season of giving is upon us. This time of year, we can find ourselves reflecting on the year gone by. We may even feel especially inspired to give back to the community. While being generous with our time or money around the holidays is a great thing, what about the rest of the year?
At Rochester Area Builders, we’re proud to offer opportunities for our members to volunteer their time and talents all year round. Our 40 Below group is designed for young professionals under 40. This group gives our members a way to grow both professionally and personally. They can also build relationships through networking and volunteerism in the Rochester, MN area.
So far this year, our 40 Below members gave back to the Rochester community by:
* Building igloos – In February, our members volunteered their time by helping kids build igloos at the Peace Plaza downtown for Social ICE’s FAM JAM event.
* Assembling step stools – Our members volunteered at the Rochesterfest Family Fun Night by helping kids assemble more than 200 step stools.
* Building a bus shelter - In August, our members built a bus shelter for the kids at Zumbro Ridge Estates to use once the school year started.
* Competing in a chili cook-off – In September, our members participated in the Boys & Girls Club Chili Challenge at the Peace Plaza downtown.
You'll have a variety of local volunteer opportunities to choose from when you become a member of Rochester Area Builders.
