RAB Home Show Celebrates 40 Years

For four decades, the Rochester Area Builders Home Show has brought together buyers and sellers, planners and designers, dreamers and doers. The three-day annual event offers something for everyone – whether you’re looking to remodel, build from scratch, buy a new appliance, or even refinance your home. It will be held at the Mayo Civic Center on February 8-10, 2019.
“More than 200 residential and commercial exhibitors will be on-site,” explains Shelly Bahlmann, Publications & Special Events Director for the Rochester Area Builders. “From top-to-bottom, inside and out, the Home Show will feature experts offering ideas for decorating, construction, landscaping, and much, much more.” Giveaways and drawings will be plentiful throughout the event including thousands of dollars in remodeling services, and attendees who visit all the booths will be eligible to win special prizes.
The Home Show also offers an extensive line-up of seminars on Saturday and Sunday at no extra cost to attendees. The popular seminars cover topics ranging from successful kitchen remodeling to making educated solar energy choices for your home.
Know a student interested in learning more about the construction industry? Encourage them to visit the Construction Career Center on Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. when local colleges and universities will be on-site to provide information about how to get involved in this important and prosperous field. The Center was introduced to the event last year and was a highlight for many. “Workforce is a growing concern for our community and especially for many of the exhibitors at the show,” says John Eischen, Rochester Area Builders Executive Director. “The Construction Career Center provides an engaging space for parents and students to learn more about the field, ask questions, and potentially position the students for successful life-long careers in the construction and building industry.” Students get in free to the Home Show during the Construction Career Center hours if they show their student ID upon entry.
The 2019 Rochester Area Builders Home Show runs from Friday, February 8 through Sunday, February 10. Admission is $10 for adults*, $1 for children ages 7-16, and free for children 6 and under.  $1 of each paid adult admission ticket benefits the Minnesota Veterans and Emergency Services Museum.
